Morgan Wilson is a Belcastro Agency agent on a mission to amplify marginalized voices — BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and disabled authors — across speculative fiction for Middle Grade through Adult, with a clear passion for queer fantasy, science fiction horror, and the stranger edges of the genre world.
In brief
Morgan Wilson's submission door is open exclusively to authors who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and/or disabled — this is a firm practice, not a soft preference, and applies across every category they represent.
Their wishlist skews heavily speculative: fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and romantasy dominate, with graphic novels (all age categories) also welcomed — this agent is not the right fit for contemporary literary fiction, thrillers, or non-fiction.
Queernorm worldbuilding, trans and nonbinary protagonists, disability representation, and Indigenous mythology are recurring emphases — pitches that weave these in authentically will resonate strongly.
A striking pattern in their wishlist is appetite for genre blends over pure subgenres: sci-fantasy, horror-fantasy, romantasy, and cli-fi all appear, signaling they prefer writers who push categories rather than play it safe.
As of late May 2026, Morgan's query inbox is open but their 'maybe' pile runs into the dozens — expect a slower-than-average response and factor that into your querying timeline.
Lately
Just another heads up! I'm open right now for July but will NOT open up in August. I will reopen again in September 😊
Hey #queerpit! I'll be in and out throughout the day but if I like your pitch please use the link below to submit 😊 QueryTracker.net/query/Morgan...
Just to let everyone know as early as possible, I am not going to open to queries in August! I have so many to look at and so many submissions and client works to read, I need some time to catch up. I will still be open for July and will reopen like usual for September!
As a quick update to this: I am down to 10 queries from April and another 10 from May, I am hoping to get through these in the next two weeks! All other queries in my box are from my most recent opening and are going to take me longer to get to (there's a couple hundred in there lol). ☺️
For transparency, here is where my box currently stands. I have tons to read sub wise AND yes those 91 queries are all in my maybe pile for another read through 🫣. I am trying my absolute hardest to read these, but I've got client works to edit too 😊. I sincerely appreciate everyone's patience!
Morgan shared a candid inbox update, noting they have a significant backlog of submissions currently sitting in a 'maybe' pile — numbering in the dozens — awaiting a second read. They acknowledged the delay and cited active client editing as a competing priority, while thanking querying writers for their patience.
What Morgan is looking for
Morgan's single most emphasized category. They want stories that push beyond default western fantasy frameworks, though western-influenced work from historically marginalized authors is welcome. Top priorities include cozy fantasy, romantasy, sci-fantasy blends, and fantasy with genuine horror undertones. Contemporary and urban fantasy also fit. Queernorm worlds — where queerness is baked into the setting rather than treated as exceptional — are a strong draw, as are 'accessible' fantasies. A D&D-flavored ensemble or a story structured around a group of tabletop players is explicitly on their wishlist (though toxic dungeon-master dynamics are a turn-off). Their top wishlist item: an adult or YA fantasy MC who is driven by rage, pursues their goal by any means necessary, and arrives at the end of the story as the villain.
Retellings, cozy fantasy, sci-fantasy and romantasy blends, and stories with strong horror elements are all actively wanted. The same hunger for queernorm worlds and diverse casts applies here. The rage-filled, morally-compromised protagonist wishlist item is explicitly open to YA as well.
Queer romantasy is the specific target — Morgan is most interested in this corner of the category. A queernorm world featuring an adventuring party (D&D-style) is a dream project. Their explicit wishlist item: a YA or adult romantasy with a trans or nonbinary main character and/or meaningful disability representation.
Hard science or extrapolations on near-future real science are the preferred foundation. Settings in or involving space, climate fiction (cli-fi), post-apocalyptic worlds, and horror-tinged sci-fi are all high on the list. A story set entirely on another world that centers that world's own people and culture — rather than human outsiders — would be a standout submission. A sweet sci-fi romance is also an explicit current priority. Top wishlist item: something that channels the atmosphere and stakes of the Alien universe.
Morgan is broadly open to horror with a few specific preferences: monsters, sentient natural environments (forests, bodies of water, landscapes that become threats), and psychological horror are favorites. Body horror is welcome; gratuitous gore is not. Hauntings and ghost stories are not a strong fit but won't be automatically rejected. Top wishlist item: a genuinely terrifying, wholly fresh take on the zombie narrative.
All-ages fantasy is welcome, with particular affection for dragons and magical creatures inhabiting the real world, witch protagonists, and magical school settings — provided the cast is genuinely diverse.
Kid-centered space adventures, stories set on alien worlds, and narratives about young characters discovering and bonding with new creatures are all welcome.
A broad appetite here — haunted houses and haunted schools, monster-hunting kids, and sentient natural settings are especially appealing at the MG level.
Morgan accepts graphic novels across every age category, provided the content falls within their genre interests (fantasy, sci-fi, horror preferred). Manga-influenced art styles are a genuine draw. Noir visual styles are not a fit.
These two genres are open for YA ONLY — not adult. Morgan is especially drawn to stories rooted in Indigenous myths, creatures, and lore, and strongly prefers these be written by Indigenous authors. Ghost and haunting stories remain a weaker fit here unless they are grounded in Indigenous traditions.

How to query Morgan
Lead your query with a clear, upfront statement of how you identify within the communities Morgan serves (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, disabled) — this is a submission eligibility requirement, not optional, though Morgan will not pressure you to disclose more than you are comfortable with.
Genre-blend pitches tend to land better than pure-genre ones: if your book is sci-fantasy, horror-romantasy, or cli-fi with a cozy sensibility, say so explicitly up front rather than picking just one label.
Queernorm worldbuilding and trans/nonbinary or disabled protagonists are not just welcomed — they are explicitly on the wishlist. If your book features these elements authentically, foreground them in your query letter.
If your story fits the D&D-flavored ensemble or the 'rage-filled villain protagonist' wishlist items, name that directly — Morgan has been public and specific about wanting these, so a query that mirrors the language of the wishlist signals you've done your homework.
Be aware that as of late May 2026 Morgan's maybe pile is running deep and their editorial workload is high — a patient, professional follow-up cadence is appropriate; do not interpret a long silence as a rejection.
Verify the live form status immediately before submitting, as active workload conditions may affect the open/closed window without public announcement.
Do not submit adult paranormal, adult mystery, military fiction, non-speculative genres, or literary fiction — these are outside the scope of what Morgan represents entirely.
